Microsoft Dynamics 365 Licensing

Microsoft announced a new licensing model for Dynamics 365 starting from October 1st, 2019.

Initially, customers had the option of purchasing licenses for the Unified Operations Plan and licenses for the Customer Engagement Plan. These plans were associated with business applications at a standard price per user. A selection of business applications from Microsoft Dynamics 365 helps you to select the best program at the right cost for your company.

The new D365 licensing model requires customers to have a basic license. This basic license pertains to the department in which the employee works, e.g., Microsoft Dynamics for Finance for a Finance employee. This basic license has a standard purchase price. On some occasions, the same user may also be working or has some functional work in other business areas. This model is also known as the “A La Carte Model”.
